IMS Robotics Group: "The market's needs are essential for development!"
IMS Robotics GmbH delivers maximum flexibility in the house connection area with the MICROpremium flex and MICRO S devices. These products were developed to fulfil the market need for cost and time efficiency in the areas of sewer cleaning and sewer rehabilitation.
Moreover, there is a growing need for systems that can adapt to various applications using different components. Addressing challenges such as minimizing modification times, ensuring ease of use, and maintaining low costs, the IMS Robotics Group has introduced the MICROpremium flex to meet these requirements.
IMS robots come in the form of two traveling carriages equipped with innovative ultra-high water pressure technology and rehabilitation system components. The MICROpremium flex, one of two selectable milling drives, is suitable for pipes ranging from DN 80 to 150, with the option to extend its use to DN 250. In early 2020, the MICROmotion, the second milling drive, became available, expanding its applicability to pipes up to DN 400, significantly broadening its range of applications.
The ultra-high water pressure technology, another integral component, excels in removing concrete and lime deposits. As a result, the CLEANERbasic can remove deposits four to five times faster than a conventional cutter. Completing the system is the MICROsan, a short liner packer designed for renovation work, which will also be available at the beginning of the new year.
"Most recently, the CLEANER was employed in a construction project within Heidelberg's castle courtyard, where it efficiently removed concrete from a DN 150 pipe over an approximately 18-meter length.. Over a length of around 18 metres, concrete was removed from a DN 150 pipe there. "The CLEANER did a good job. The construction site was completed successfully and the contractor was happy. We chose IMS because the system has automatic identification of the fitted attachments in addition to the various components. This in combination with the automatic adoption of the interface and the operation via a touch screen makes it easy to handle. In addition to the factors, the significantly shorter working time with the CLEANER was of course decisive," says Andreas Erles, Managing Director of Erles Umweltservice GmbH.
In the field of sewer cleaning and rehabilitation, flexibility in narrow pipe cross-sections is crucial. The MICROpremium flex offers a 90-degree radius from DN 100, while the new MICRO S excels in handling small cross-sections with an 87-degree radius in DN 100 pipes using its automatic crawling function. It has a radius of 87 degrees in the lined DN 100 pipe using the automatic crawling function. In addition, the MICRO S can turn in an 87 degree curve from one DN 110 pipe into another DN 110 pipe as well as into a DN 75 pipe. "In addition to the good turnability, we were convinced by the bayonet connection. This enables the drive to be connected to the flexible hose set quickly and easily, which means that the unit is ready for use within a few moments. Thanks to the use of rollers to extend the nominal diameters, we can use the MICRO S in different ways and quickly convert it if necessary." For the Swedish company Aarsleff Rörteknik AB, the technology's reliability was important in addition to the different areas of application, as Anna Johnsdotter, Real Estate Division Manager, further emphasises.
To date, we've received orders for 15 MICRO S units, both domestically and internationally, with the first models already delivered," says Jonas Gabriel. "We aim to build on this success in the coming year. With our extensive product portfolio, we are well-equipped to address the market's demands“
