IMS Robotics receives funding for digitalisation: Introduction of an electronic spare parts catalogue

We are delighted to announce that IMS Robotics GmbH has received funding to support the company’s digital development. The funds will enable us to introduce an electronic spare parts catalogue that will digitalise key processes in service, logistics, and documentation over the long term and make them more efficient.

Background: Initial situation and need for action

Until now, identifying and ordering spare parts within our company has been a time-consuming process. We received enquiries through various channels – by email, telephone, or photos. The subsequent manual identification across multiple systems and ordering via PDF forms not only took considerable time but also increased the risk of errors.

Objective: Efficiency through digital processes

With the introduction of the electronic spare parts catalogue, we are opening a new chapter in our service quality. In the future, the catalogue will make it possible to identify spare parts independently and intuitively – without lengthy descriptions and follow-up queries. The integrated shopping cart will make ordering much easier: items and quantities can be selected directly and sent to IMS Robotics.

In addition, the catalogue provides access to all relevant documents for each device, including circuit diagrams, operating instructions, and repair manuals. It will also be possible to quickly and easily create 3D illustrations and exploded views for technical documentation in the future.

Integration into internal processes

The digital spare parts catalogue will be directly linked to our CAD software and ERP system. This means numerous departments will benefit from the new solution:

  • Service technicians will use the catalogue for repairs – with direct access to spare parts, stock information, and instructions.

  • The logistics department can retrieve visual representations for customs clearance during international shipping.

  • International Service Support will create technical instructions featuring clear 3D graphics.

To ensure a smooth introduction, all internal users will receive comprehensive training. In addition to IMS Robotics GmbH, our service partners and colleagues across the IMS Group worldwide will also be familiarised with the new software. Administrators will receive in-depth training to support ongoing operations and make adjustments as needed.

Many thanks for the funding!

Our special thanks go to the funding organisations that have made this project possible – in particular, the Free State of Saxony, which is supporting us through Sächsische Aufbaubank (SAB) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The project is subsidised by the Free State of Saxony and co-financed by funds from the European Union.

This is Europe investing in the future of our country.

With this funding, we are taking our service to the next level – for more efficiency, greater customer satisfaction, and future-proof processes.
